The amateur golfers of The Skipasund Foundation, including founder Haraldur Agustsson, have taken to the greens and fairways of historic Royal Birkdale and raised tens of thousands of pounds for The Prince’s Trust’s work supporting disadvantaged young people.

As the headline sponsor, The Skipasund Foundation provided £20,000 for the Prince’s Trust’s annual Royal Birkdale Golf Day which featured a fantastic day of tests of golfing prowess for over 100 attendees. The day’s activities included a putting contest sponsored by Globus Group in which the enthusiastic players competed for prizes worth £3,000.

Attendees at Birkdale – which has hosted The Open no fewer than ten times - also enjoyed competitions including Beat the Pro, Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive and the Sweepstake, and a formal dinner and prize presentation.

In total the Golf Day raised an incredible £83,000 from sponsorship and via an auction, with other sponsors including Boodles and Daisy Group. In total, The Skipasund Foundation and Globus Group donated £25,000 to the event.

Among those at the 134 year old course was Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador Joanna, who spoke about the importance of The Trust’s work support young people to succeed against the odds, turn their lives around and make a positive impact in their communities.
